83-inch OLED picture

With no conventional backlight, every OLED pixel can control its own light output. That gives the OLED83B6ELB true black areas alongside bright highlights, with excellent contrast and detail across movies, sport and general TV. LG’s Perfect Black performance is independently verified by UL.

The Alpha 8 AI Processor 4K Gen3 analyses picture and sound in real time, supported by Alpha 8 AI Super Upscaling 4K, AI Picture Pro and Dynamic Tone Mapping Pro to optimise lower-resolution sources and HDR material for the 4K panel.

Made for movies

Dolby Vision is supported alongside HDR10 and HLG, while FILMMAKER MODE helps preserve the intended presentation of films and television programmes. Dolby Atmos processing is also built in.

Excellent for PS5, Xbox and PC gaming

The OLED83B6ELB uses a native 120Hz OLED panel and supports 4K at up to 120 frames per second through HDMI. VRR, ALLM, NVIDIA G-SYNC compatibility, AMD FreeSync, HGiG and LG Game Optimiser are all included, together with a response time of less than 0.1ms.

All four HDMI connections support LG’s 4K/120 gaming feature set, with eARC provided through HDMI 2.

webOS 26 Smart TV

LG’s webOS 26 platform provides access to streaming and smart TV services alongside LG ThinQ, Apple AirPlay, Apple Home, Google Cast and Multi View. The supplied MR26GB AI Magic Remote combines LG’s familiar pointer and scroll-wheel navigation with dedicated AI functionality and voice control.

Sound

The integrated 2.0-channel 20W speaker system supports Dolby Atmos, Alpha 8 AI Sound Pro virtual 11.1.2 up-mixing, Clear Voice Pro and WOW Orchestra compatibility with supported LG sound systems.

For an 83-inch television likely to be used in a larger room, we would recommend pairing it with a suitable soundbar or AV system if cinema-scale audio is important.

For buyers wanting a genuinely cinematic screen without moving away from OLED, the 83-inch LG B6E is particularly compelling. At this size the strengths of OLED — perfect blacks, excellent viewing angles and precise pixel-level contrast — become much more noticeable, while LG has retained the important enthusiast features such as Dolby Vision and a full 4K/120Hz gaming specification.

The main compromise is sound: the integrated 20W 2.0-channel system is relatively modest for an 83-inch television, so we would budget for a soundbar if you're building a serious home-cinema setup.

Our view: if screen size and OLED picture quality take priority over stepping further up LG's premium OLED range, the OLED83B6ELB hits a very attractive sweet spot. It gives you the scale of an 83-inch cinema screen with the core picture, movie and gaming technologies that matter most.
