The REL T/5x Compact Subwoofer in Piano White delivers fast, controlled and surprisingly deep bass without dominating your living space. Compact Size, Proper REL Performance

The T/5x is designed to provide the speed and subtlety associated with larger REL subwoofers in a much more compact enclosure. Its closed-box construction and down-firing driver distribute bass energy evenly through the room, helping the subwoofer sound larger than its physical dimensions suggest.

The softly rounded cabinet reduces its visual presence, while five coats of hand-polished Piano Black lacquer give the T/5x a premium finish suitable for both dedicated listening rooms and contemporary living spaces.

Fast 8-Inch FibreAlloy Driver

At the heart of the REL T/5x is an 8-inch long-throw FibreAlloy driver with an inverted alloy centre cap. The lightweight composite cone is engineered to respond quickly, preserving bass texture, timing and individual note definition rather than producing slow or overpowering low frequencies.

This makes the T/5x particularly effective with music, where it can add scale and warmth while remaining properly integrated with the main speakers. Its low-frequency extension reaches down to 32Hz at -6dB, providing impressive depth for a cabinet of this size.

125W Class A/B Amplification

The built-in 125W RMS Class A/B amplifier has been selected for its natural presentation, reliability and ability to maintain control over the driver. Rather than simply adding volume, the T/5x can improve the perceived scale, clarity and soundstage of the entire system.

Separate controls and connections allow the subwoofer to support both two-channel music and home cinema. The high-level connection can follow the tonal character of the main amplifier, while the dedicated LFE input handles the low-frequency effects channel from a compatible AV receiver.

Flexible System Integration

The REL T/5x includes a Neutrik Speakon high-level input, a low-level RCA input and a separate RCA LFE input. The music and home cinema connections can be used simultaneously, allowing the T/5x to move naturally between stereo listening and movie playback without repeatedly changing cables or settings.

A nominal 10-metre Neutrik Speakon cable is supplied for high-level installation. The T/5x is also compatible with the optional REL Arrow wireless system, providing an alternative where running a long signal cable is impractical.

Ideal for Smaller and Medium-Sized Rooms

With dimensions of just 300mm wide, 307mm high and 313mm deep, the T/5x is easy to accommodate beside a hi-fi rack, between furniture or near the front speakers. It is best suited to smaller and medium-sized listening spaces where speed, integration and musicality are more important than maximum cinema output.

For larger rooms or systems requiring significantly greater output, the larger REL T/7x or T/9x may be more appropriate. A stereo pair of T/5x subwoofers can also provide improved room coverage, imaging and bass consistency.
