The Shark CarpetXpert Deep Carpet Cleaner EX150UK combines deep carpet washing, powerful liquid extraction and targeted stain removal in one upright cleaning system. Deep-clean carpets beyond regular vacuuming

A traditional vacuum removes loose dust, crumbs and surface debris but cannot wash away layers of dirt held deeper within carpet fibres. The Shark CarpetXpert EX150UK combines water, cleaning formula, powered brushing and suction to wash and refresh fitted carpets more thoroughly.

Shark states that CarpetXpert delivers an eight-times deeper clean than a regular vacuum, based on testing against the Shark NV602UK upright vacuum.

Carpets should be thoroughly dry-vacuumed before using the CarpetXpert, as the EX150UK is a carpet washer rather than a conventional dry vacuum cleaner.

High-pressure spray distributes the cleaning solution

As the CarpetXpert moves forward, its high-pressure spray penetrates the carpet and distributes the diluted cleaning formula across the cleaning path. This helps loosen ground-in dirt and grime without requiring you to manually apply solution across the entire floor.

The machine is designed to distribute the solution evenly without unnecessarily over-soaking the carpet. For best results, maintain a steady pace and avoid repeatedly washing the same section more often than recommended.

Powerful suction supports faster drying

On the backward cleaning stroke, powerful suction extracts dirty water and excess liquid from the carpet. Removing more moisture during cleaning helps reduce the amount of time the carpet remains wet afterwards.

Actual drying time will depend on carpet thickness, room temperature, humidity, ventilation and the number of cleaning passes completed. Opening windows or increasing airflow through the room can help the carpet dry more quickly.

Separate clean and dirty-water tanks

The EX150UK has a 2.3-litre clean-solution tank and a separate 850ml dirty-water tank. This ensures that fresh water and cleaning formula remain separate from the dirt and liquid extracted from the carpet.

Both tanks can be removed for filling, emptying and rinsing. The dirty-water tank should be emptied once it reaches its maximum fill level, while both tanks should be cleaned after use to help prevent odours and residue from accumulating.

Targeted stain and spot removal

For spills, stains and smaller areas, use the built-in 1.5-metre hose with the Tough Stain Hand Tool. The hand tool applies cleaning solution directly to the affected area before agitating the stain and extracting the loosened dirt and liquid.

This makes the CarpetXpert suitable for dealing with localised marks without washing the entire room. It can also be used on carpeted stairs and compatible rugs or upholstery, subject to the item manufacturer’s cleaning instructions.

The supplied Crevice Tool provides more focused access around carpet edges, narrow areas and awkward spaces where the standard hand tool may be too wide.

CarpetXpert Deep Clean Pro Formula

A starter bottle of Shark CarpetXpert Deep Clean Pro Formula is included, allowing you to begin cleaning without purchasing a separate detergent immediately.

The clean-solution tank is designed for use with compatible Shark carpet-cleaning formulas. Third-party detergents, homemade mixtures, bleach, solvents or excessively foaming products should not be added, as unsuitable solutions may affect performance or damage the machine.

Do not fill the tank with boiling water. Shark specifies that water hotter than 60°C should not be used.

Suitable carpets and rugs

The EX150UK is designed primarily for fitted carpets and compatible area rugs. Always check the rug or carpet manufacturer’s care label and test a small, hidden area for colourfastness before completing a full clean.

Shark does not recommend deep cleaning delicate materials such as wool, silk, cotton, antique rugs, natural hide, leather or rugs without a manufacturer’s care label.

The CarpetXpert is not intended for washing hard floors. It should also not be used as a dry vacuum cleaner to collect loose debris before washing.

Long cord and built-in hose

The 7.6-metre power cable and approximately nine-metre operating radius provide useful reach for cleaning larger rooms without repeatedly changing sockets.

The 1.5-metre hose remains available for spot cleaning and smaller surfaces, while the upright floorhead handles the main carpeted area.

Cleaning and maintenance

After each use, empty and rinse the dirty-water tank, clean the removable components and remove any hair or fibres collected around the brush roll and floorhead.

The included hose-cleaning accessory helps rinse residue from the internal hose after stain and spot cleaning. Allow the tanks and tools to dry fully before reassembling or storing the machine.
