The REL T/7x Subwoofer in Piano Black strikes an excellent balance between compact dimensions, musical speed and powerful low-frequency performance. Combining an 8-inch front-firing FibreAlloy active driver, a 10-inch down-firing passive radiator and a high-current 200W Class A/B amplifier, it delivers deep, controlled bass for high-quality stereo and home cinema systems without overwhelming the room.

Balanced Performance for Music and Movies

The REL T/7x is designed for listeners who want more power and extension than the compact T/5x while retaining the speed, control and natural integration for which REL subwoofers are known. It is equally comfortable adding weight and scale to a two-channel music system or delivering the impact required from a home cinema soundtrack.

Separate controls for the high-level or low-level music input and the dedicated LFE input allow both connections to remain active simultaneously. This means the T/7x can be carefully tuned for stereo listening while still receiving the dedicated low-frequency effects channel from a compatible AV receiver.

Active Driver and Passive Radiator Design

The T/7x uses an 8-inch long-throw FibreAlloy active driver mounted on the front of the cabinet. Its lightweight composite cone, inverted alloy centre cap and carefully revised suspension help it respond quickly to changes in the audio signal, preserving individual bass notes, rhythm and subtle low-frequency detail.

A larger 10-inch FibreAlloy passive radiator is positioned underneath the cabinet. This adds greater depth and output without the airflow noise associated with a conventional bass-reflex port. The result is clean, tuneful bass with low-frequency extension reaching 30Hz at -6dB.

High-Current 200W Class A/B Amplification

The built-in 200W RMS Class A/B MOSFET amplifier provides the current reserves needed to control both the active driver and passive radiator. REL has retained an analogue amplifier design to preserve speed, transparency and natural tonal character, while a substantial power supply supports demanding musical passages and movie soundtracks.

Electronic protection against DC faults and output shorts is incorporated without placing unnecessary processing in the main audio signal path.

REL High-Level Connection

REL’s preferred high-level connection uses the supplied Neutrik Speakon cable to take the signal from the speaker outputs of the main amplifier. The connection draws virtually no power from the amplifier but allows the T/7x to receive the same tonal and timing information as the main speakers, helping the subwoofer integrate naturally with the rest of the system.

A conventional RCA low-level input is also included, alongside a separate RCA LFE connection for home cinema use. The supplied Speakon cable has a nominal length of 10 metres, providing flexibility when positioning the subwoofer within the room.

Optional REL Arrow Wireless Connection

Where running a long signal cable is impractical, the T/7x is compatible with the optional REL Arrow wireless system. Arrow is designed to carry REL’s high-level, low-level and LFE signals without digital compression, allowing more flexible positioning while maintaining the speed and timing needed for accurate bass reproduction.

Premium Piano Black Cabinet

The gently rounded cabinet reduces its apparent visual size while providing the additional internal volume required for greater bass depth and output. Five coats of polished Piano Black lacquer create a premium finish that complements modern televisions, loudspeakers and hi-fi furniture.

Measuring 356mm wide, 320mm high and 363mm deep, the T/7x is compact enough for most living rooms while offering sufficient power for smaller and medium-sized listening spaces.
